Madonna’s daughter Lourdes says wealthy mum refuses to give kids ‘handouts’

Madonna’s daughter Lourdes Leon said her wealthy mum doesn’t give her any handouts.

The Like A Virgin singer is worth over £700 million and lives lavishly but Lourdes revealed her mother can be a “control freak”.

Speaking to Debi Mazar for Interview magazine, the 25-year-old revealed: “My mom is such a control freak, and she has controlled me my whole life.

“I needed to be completely independent from her as soon as I graduated high school.”

Lourdes didn’t need the help as she paid for university herself as well as her own apartment.

She added: “We don’t get any handouts in my family. Obviously, I grew up with extreme privilege. There’s no denying that.

“I think my mom saw all these other kids of famous people, and she was like, ‘My kids are not going to be like this.’”

Lourdes is Madonna’s oldest child – as the singer is also mum to Rocco Ritchie, 21, David Banda, 16, Mercy James, 15, and twins Estere and Stelle Ciccone, nine.

The model recently had to slam “misogynistic” comments people have made about women’s bodies.

She took to her Instagram to hit out at social media haters who appear to have made “insensitive” comments about her after she proudly showed off her armpit hair on the Met Gala red carpet in recent weeks.

Sharing a snap of her glamorous self at the celebrity event of the year, wearing a sparkling pink bra top and skirt made by Moschino’s Jeremy Scott, Lourdes criticised those who shame women and their body choices.

She looked incredible in the image, as she gave a smouldering stare into the camera.

But in the caption she shared her frustration at ‘misogynistic’ trolls, telling them to stop discussing women’s bodies.

“Normalize not discussing a womans body period!” she penned.

“THINK before you make insensitive, misogynistic comments!”

Inspired by her decision to stand up for other women, fans praised Lourdes in the comments section.

“What you’re doing is stripping power off the patriarchy – it never comes without a punishment,” they penned. “But when strong women like you take the lead, it inspires so many to follow. Please continue!! You’re the queen. And a beautiful one too.”
